Artists: Timpla DC

We are Filipina American artists, writers, designers, and food enthusiasts passionate about flaunting the beauty of our homeland. We do this through creative endeavors such as visual art, writing, speaking, hosting events, and participating in local and Filipino-centric events. We’re community builders who love to educate ourselves on immigration policies, read memoirs about hyphenated identity (ask us about our favorites!), find resources about indigenous and historic Filipino culture, and hear stories from lolos, lolas, titos, titas, kuyas, ates, and everyone in between. We hope to challenge the “Asian Model Minority” stereotype by acting as a role models for female immigrant creatives.
