Artist: Cristina Rago

Cristina is a Filipino-American mixed media artist and designer based in DuPont Circle, Washington, DC. She has always been fascinated by people’s faces and their stories. Through her work, she aims to not only represent the beauty of humanity but also to tell a story about her subject. Humans are incredibly complex creatures and have many layers to them: memory, dreams, hopes, and everyday realities. She strives to capture expression in her work and represent people in an ethereal reality. During this time, we are all experiencing so many emotions and changes to daily routines. People are unable to see family, friends, or coworkers. Despite so many cancellations, hopes and dreams for a better future continue. Although people feel isolated and distant, they are connected in similar struggles. She hopes that in her work people can find beauty in the complexities of human life.
