Storytelling for Impact:
A Workshop for All Skill Levels and Voices

Got something to say, but don’t know how to say it? Perhaps you have too many things to say, and don’t know where to start? In March of 2020 (right before the start of pandemic shut downs) DMV writers and storytellers joined the Asian Pasifika Arts Collective as Improv artist, actor and writer Kim Le walked them through the basic mechanics of storytelling: how to generate ideas, organize them in an effective manner, and deliver them with the most impact for your intended audience. This event was FREE and open to the public.

Our first Storytelling For Impact Workshop was hosted at Red Emma’s Bookstore Coffeehouse on Saturday, March 7, 2020. It was facilitated by BAPAC Artistic Affiliate Kim Le.

About Kim:
Kim Le is a local multidisciplinary performance artist who has collaborated with several theatres in a variety of roles: as an actor, puppeteer, writer, and front-of-house manager. Kim has also participated in story slams, and was featured on a mainstage show of the Stoop Storytelling Series in 2015. Recently, Kim portrayed the role of "Magic Teller" in Tornkid, a collaboration between Baltimore Pasifika Arts Collective and Cohesion Theatre that won the B.I.T.R. Sisters' Award for Best Devised Work of 2019.

Her performance background is primarily in improvisational comedy. Kim joined the Baltimore Improv Group (BIG) in 2015 and is a founding member of the all-Asian improv troupe A++ Comedy, which performs monthly at BIG, and will also be part of the upcoming Asia North festival in April.
